This app sucks: it doesn't let you download PDFs to your phone so that you can actually use a proper PDF reader to read it aloud to you. They force you to use their own which, I swear, had JUST a black screen with a play/pause button + mute. That's it. No voices options or reading speeds. Accidentally click out of the app? Starts from the beginning! No resume where u left off. 8pgs into a snoozfest academic study? OMG. Basic controls people. Also u can't select the text to paste elsewhere. šŸ¤¬

EBSCO is a huge company that partners with so many educational institutions. In this day and age its disappointing to see a company not have accessability options like read aloud, or simple functions found on other readers like the option to highlight or write notes. if they added these to the app it would be a much better alternative than getting a used hard copy book

Thank you for your feedback. We have a text to speech option for PDF articles in the app. Unfortunately, the app has no ebook reader on its Android version, however, the iOS version has a reader in case you have access to an iOS device. We understand your concern and are working on adding a reader to the app with accessibility functions.

Doesn't sync with the web version, so I cannot read the papers I have already spent time and energy researching and saving. This app therefore has very little use except to someone who wants to read the occasional paper and knows exactly what they are looking for.

Thank you for your feedback. Syncing between the web version and app is one of the features that allows researchers to organize and access their work. We would like to further look into the issue you experience. Would you mind contacting us via mobileappsupport@ebsco.com?
